Discernment
Before a man enters the Formation Program (what is often called seminary
training) for the Vincentians, he needs a period of time to discover
more about the Vincentians, and for the Vincentians to discover more about
him! This is a time of discernment and can take many forms.
One might spend a year in one of the two volunteer programs associated with
the Vincentians: the Gateway Vincentian Volunteers in St. Louis, or the
Colorado Vincentian Volunteers in Denver. Or you might take part in our
Vocation Discernment Program at our residence in south St. Louis Missouri.
Another option for discernment would be to connect with a Vincentian community
close to where you live and maintain frequent contact with one of the priests
or brothers there. Whatever method of discernment works best for you, the
Vocation Director and local Vincentians will be happy to assist you in discovering
Gods call, and in preparing you to enter the Formation Program, if
that is indeed where God is calling you.
